Privacy Policy

StoryReel AI ("we", "the Service") lets you chat with an AI director and generate character, scene, prop, and video content. This page explains what happens to the content you create and what data is collected.

1. What we process

Your chat messages and generation prompts are sent from your browser to our own server, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider to generate a response, image, or video — this data transfer is required to provide the Service. We do not display your content anywhere else or share it with any other third party.

2. Your account and content are stored on our infrastructure

Registration collects your email address and a hashed password (never stored or logged in plain text). Characters, scenes, props, and videos you generate are stored on our servers (Cloudflare D1 for metadata, Cloudflare R2 for the actual image/video files), tied to your account, so they follow you across devices and browsers — unlike an earlier version of this Service, this content is no longer stored only in your browser.

3. Third-party AI processing and model training

We currently use a third-party AI provider to process your chat messages and generate images/videos. Under its terms, submitted content may be used by that provider to train and improve their models. We do not control or have visibility into how long that data is retained on their side.

If this concerns you, please avoid sharing sensitive personal information, identity documents, or financial information in your prompts.

4. Generated content is automatically deleted after 7 days

Every character, scene, prop, and video you generate is permanently and automatically deleted 7 days after creation — please download anything you want to keep before then. This 7-day timer applies only to generated content, not to your account itself, which persists until you delete it (see below). Under high overall demand we also enforce a shared storage cap across all accounts; if it is ever reached, the globally oldest generated content may be deleted slightly earlier than 7 days to make room for new generations.

5. Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the account menu (password re-entry required to confirm). This immediately and permanently removes your account record and all of your generated content from our servers — this action cannot be undone.

6. Cookies and local storage

We set one essential httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in — it is not used for tracking or analytics and is not readable by page scripts. We also use your browser's localStorage to remember your language and light/dark theme preference. No tracking cookies or analytics identifiers are set by this site.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the Service or its underlying AI provider changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
